Mrs. Olsen's Pumpkin Patch

Look at What We Have Been Up To!

We did a gallery walk of our character pumpkins. They turned out incredible! What creative students I have! They are now on display in the IMC. We will be sharing our books as mini book talks this week and next, encourage our classmates to read the books we chose.

Monster Writing...Think-Pair-Share

The students created their own monster image and then wrote a descriptive paragraph about. They then shared the description with a partner, who followed their details to draw their own monster. Look how similar they are! We then discussed how good, clear, and descriptive language helped the reader visualize the similar monster image.

Math Subtraction Video

Hi Mrs. Olsen's Math Class!

We are trying to FLIP the classroom..this is a new concept in teaching where students watch a video about the upcoming lesson the night before, so they have some prior knowledge and practice coming into class the next day. We will be watching the video in class tomorrow as well, but I thought students who could watch at home would have a chance to FLIP the class: )

Please click here to view a video about subtraction with regrouping:
