A LOOK AT NEXT WEEK:

*Reading: We will continue to read and discuss The One and Only Ivan. We are working in comprehension of the text through text dependent questions and context clues to decode difficult words. We are also studying the use of figurative language used in the text, such as similes, metaphors, and onomatopoeia.  We didn't take the Ivan review #2 this week, so we will take it next week. It will be open book and open note.

*English:  We are working in free writing and applying our skills of proper sentence structure, grammar, and quality writing to our work.

*Spelling: A new word sort will be passed out on Monday. The test and 3 activities will be on Fri. May 4th.

The Unit 6 test is Tues. 4/24.  We will begin Unit 7 next week, which explores greater number multiplication concepts and fractions. We will also work on 6's division facts. The following schedule will take place in the upcoming weeks for division fact facts: 7's, 8's, 9's, and then 12's.
